Harland Simons roots go back to 1915 and the Harland Engineering Company. Over the years we developed and supplied management control systems to a wide variety of industries. In 1980 the company was acquired by institutional and private investors. Soon after this the company entered into the newspaper printing industry, whilst continuing traditional activities in the fields of paper and board making and converting, as well as in other industries such as metals, water control, plastics, rubber, mining etc. By the late 1980’s virtually all national newspaper titles in the UK were using our management and control systems in their respective newspaper production lines.
